Hi Louise….2022 and I hope you are well, still in Texas, and still illustrating! To the point: will you consider reading a short but poignant children’s story that needs an illustrator?
Some illustrators will not accept a self-published author but if the right illustrator could be found, the book would not have to be ‘self-published.’
The author lives in New Braunfels and one of his works is on Amazon…”Waldo Maccabee: In Christ’s Footsteps.”
The story is clearly of a Christian origin and simple, kind.
I am neither a writer or an illustrator! Just someone seemingly being pushed along a path….Appreciative for your time-Nancy, Salado, TX
Hi Louise, I saw your artwork on SCBWI. What I like is the realism and whimsy within the illustrations, which is just what I need and there are a lot of animals mentioned in the book as many as I can think of as the main character explains that people eat just about every animal including Togo fugu the puffer fish and humans on that list, except for platypus due to their poisonous glands people can’t eat them. There is also a great deal of irony with an idealistic concept to find more water treatment plants with haute couture fashion. Set in San Diego I’m aiming for a Newbury Award. I’d like to work with you to make it as strong contender as possible. I’d like to forward the manuscript which reads fast no filler. The main character writes reports on important current events happening in the world ranging from serious environmental pollution to horrendous child labor and an equitable solution involving writing letters to those kids. I’d like to hear from you! Best wishes, kel
Hi Kel. Thanks for the nice comments and for contacting me about your manuscript. Unfortunately I’m not taking on any outside work at this time. I hope you’re able to find another illustrator and I wish you all the success with your book.
I’m a new author and live in Coquitlam, BC, Canada. I saw ‘The Blues Go Extreme Birding’ (Carol L. Malnor & Sandy F. Fuller, authors) and was impressed by your illustrations. I love the combination of realism and whimsy. It would be a perfect match for my children’s picture book, ‘Becki and the Trailer Kids.’ Any chance you’re still taking on projects like children’s picture book illustrations? If not, any chance you could recommend another illustrator?
I’m Benson Richard, a learning facilitator and i work for schools. I found your contact on your website and am impressed by your creativity and skills.
I need an illustrator/animator for an upcoming workshop project and would love to discuss a potential collaboration. Please let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll provide more details and a project brief.
OH! How beautiful! Your work is so wonderful! Thank you for pointing me to your site.
Reminds me of visiting different worlds without leaving home – so evocative.
I’d like to buy your panda painting in print. I live in DS. I bought your giraffe & birds print recently at the art market at Songwriter’s festival. I must have the panda one now :). Too cute!
Thank you for buying my work. I do you have the panda print and can meet up with you in DS sometime. You can use the email on my business card to coordinate a time. Thanks.
Louise

Thanks for contacting me Nancy. I’m busy working on my own books so I’m sorry and wouldn’t be able to illustrate for someone at this time.

Hi Benson.
What kind of project would it be?
I’m curious how you came across my website.
