About

Louise Schroeder grew up on a large family farm near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. Throughout her 20’s she worked as a nurse, and during that time she avoided the long cold winters by traveling to warmer climes throughout the world. Her travels brought unforgettable adventures and inspired her to share these experiences through her art. She was self-taught for most of her career until she took a fine arts class in Austin in 2017. Louise works with acrylics on watercolor paper and has shown her work in numerous art shows in Canada and the United States. She has created stage designs, murals, posters and illustrated a textbook for Saskatchewan schools. She was the visual creator and illustrator for the award winning children’s book series THE BLUES GO BIRDING and was the illustrator for MY FAMILY FOREVER (previously titled GONE CUCKOO).

Louise has three wonderful daughters and a granddaughter and is enjoying country living with her 10 bantam chickens near Austin, Texas.

I did know you wrote children books … wow

    keep up the good work

I am sure there will be many publishers here who would be willing to publish

I am in touch with a few

I could work on some of your books to suit the Indian public if you like so and have them written in in our languages — hindi , marathi and gujurathi among other !

Simply blown away by your art.

Actually by your heart – a heart for others and for moving lovingly into their lives.

Blessings to you — and may our paths cross again many times in many ways.

  6. I would like to invite you to participate in our July Children’s Book Fair. It will be July 20th from 10-4. Because we are a nonprofit organization, we unfortunately do not have a budget to help pay expenses but would love for you to join us. We do provide drinks throughout the day and lunch.

Our book fair will be in our Visitor’s Gallery. We will have book signings, story times, art projects, and more – a very festive day. Usually we have around 1000 visitors for our book fairs.

Please get back with me and let me know if you are interested in participating, we have limited spaces for authors and illustrators. I know that our small guests would enjoy meeting you. I look forward to hearing from you.
    Nancy

Hello Louise, not sure if you remember me but we went to school together and took the bus to school. I was so impressed to find out you are an artist. Love your art, you are very talented. Congrats on your beautiful books for children. One never knows where life will take you but you found a special gift inside you and I am so glad you are sharing your wonderful gift. Keep up the great work. Your grade 6 school friend Jeanne Beaudry.
